Had an unexpectedly eventful weekend and thus fell even further behind on my daily drabbles. Oops! But I'm still going! I'll catch up eventually haha.

Here is Day 5: back to nature. I decided I wanted to be in someone else's head this time, and so I approached Drarry from Luna's perspective. She's my favorite character, but I find her so hard to pin down! So hopefully I managed to do her justice, but this was super fun to write, regardless.

Prompt: Back to nature
Word Count: 254
Rating: G
Warnings: none

Okay, I've skipped Day 3 for now because I got stuck. The flow feels wrong, and I've been staring at it for two days that I can't look at it objectively anymore.

Not wanting to fall behind even further, I went ahead with Day 4: Anxiety, a topic near and too dear, and something I enjoy trying to capture the essence of in writing.

This was fun to write and it came so easily. I don't know if it's any good, but I like it. :)

Prompt: Anxiety
Word Count: 585
Rating: PG
Warnings: none

I'm a day behind, but here is my drabble for Escapril Day 2! I had set myself a word count and then promptly surpassed it, so I decided to leave off the restriction today and just have fun with it. :)

Prompt: April showers
Word Count: 660
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: none

It's been about 3 years since I've touched this fandom, which means it's been 3 years too many! My goodness, it was like jumping into a vat of pure happiness when I read my first fic in so long. Honestly, it felt like coming home, which is weird to say about fanfiction, but there it is.

Anyways, I remember doing LDWS in 2015 and how much the constraints within the prompts forced me to improve my writing pretty quickly. It's April now, and one of my favorite Youtubers has started the writer's version of Inktober called Escapril. It's actually meant for poetry, but really I think the end goal is just to inspire creativity and build community. The full prompt list is here.

So my brain, which has been thinking of literally nothing but Drarry all day, decided to use the Escapril prompts along with a randomly generated word count to kick my writing back into gear!

And so, here is my entry for Day 1. ♥

Prompt: A fresh start
Word Count: no more than 399
Rating: G
Warnings: none

A few weeks ago I participated in Round 7 of [livejournal.com profile] slythindor100's Last Drabble Writer Standing competition and unexpectedly made it all the way to week 6 of 8! So that was pretty cool. :) The prompts were all Dumbledore quotes, which was equally fun and intimidating.

The LDWS is also the first time I've ever written a drabble, so to say it was a learning experience is a slight understatement.

I learned a lot of stuff... )

And here is what I wrote:

Week 1 )

Week 2 )

Week 3 )

Week 4 )

Week 5 )

Week 6 )

Week 7

I was eliminated during week 6, however I really loved the prompt for week 7 so I wrote it anyways and posted it after the competition was over.

The prompt for week 7 was: "It is our choices that show us who we truly are, far more than our abilities." 145 words exactly.

Title: A New Leaf
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Word Count: 145

( Hop over to Slythindor100 to read it )

Week 2 and week 5 were probably my favorites to write. But overall, it was a super fun experience! ♥

I think half of my IRL friends have probably muted my tweets on my private Twitter because all I ever talk about is the H/D fandom and my dogs.

So I thought it might be in the best interest of everyone if I created a separate Twitter specifically for fandom.

It's brand new, and nothing's there yet, but I'd love to follow anyone here who uses it! ♥

Find me: @lunaria697 or tell me your handle!

I Panicked

OMG YOU GUYS

I basically had a heart attack last night because I thought both HP Drizzle and HDOTP Ever After were due in August.

I thought I was going to have to write 60k words in one month. //dies

And so I panicked (evidence of which is plastered across my twitter), and literally made a schedule with highlighters and everything where every free day in July consisted solely of writing like 4k words a day.

EVER AFTER ISN'T DUE TIL NOVEMBER THANK THE HEAVENS.

//cries with relief

[livejournal.com profile] dracotops_harry fest reveals went up so I can finally post something to this blog! lol! The fest was wonderful, and I am still combing through and loving all the submissions.

Everyone was so thoughtful and amazing in the comments, it made me so happy to read them all. ♥ And I have eternal gratitude for my beta [livejournal.com profile] this_bloody_cat who helped make my first fic so much better!

This journal will be used for all things related to writing, most especially my OTP Harry/Draco.

(Mostly I just haven't written anything in years and need to get back in practice!)
